Guests: GLOW CURVE / HUA LUN

After the national tour that lasted for a month, post-rock band Pentatonic comes back to Beijing in Yugongyishan, with two group of friends, Glow Curve and Hua Lun, to launch they first full-length album. Do not miss this show of the best Beijing post-rock/instrumental rock before 2013 ends.

About Syndrome

As we are labeled everyday, Pentatonic’s first full-length album is the ambition to label this epoch. Perhaps you still remember the joke-like title of their last record; it is in that spirit this album is titled.

Syndrome includes 8 tracks. The songs were composed in different periods, from 2004 to now. With the evolution of style in mind, the album can be considered a comprehensive conclusion of their career so far.

This new album also sees Pentatonic’s first collaboration with professional producers, including the collaborators of GY!BE.

About Pentatonic:

The name of the band refers to the traditional concept of Chinese music. In terms of their sound, the band tends to be for the moment – post-rock influenced by Western indie scene, multi-instrument ambience, and private atmosphere building, and even dance beats and punk chords. This peculiar, eclectic form is a result of different tastes of members, and also reflects the mentality of contemporary Chinese youth: frame breaking and hopping marching. From this perspective, Pentatonic is very Chinese. Their first EP was released by 1724 Records in 2009. In 2013, Syndrome, with the zeitgeist as its ambition, Syndrome is released.
