HOWIE LEE

It’s not often that you’d expect to find that bass-heavy sounds of UK sitting together with Chinese melodies and sound textures, if there is one producer who’s doing exactly that, then look no further than Howie Lee. Fusing together his Chinese heritage and British training, the Beijing based producer is steadily carving out his own niche, demonstrating rising awareness of what contemporary dance music can be.

Following the release of an official remix of Snoop Lion, Howie Lee continued to captivate his crowd with characteristic textures and grooves on “Borderless Shadows” EP out via renowned UK tastemaker Trapdoor Records. Since the release, Howie Lee has been supported from industrial veterans such as Plastician(Rinse FM/Terrorhythm), Scratcha DVA(Rinse/Hyperdub), e Gaslamp Killer(Brianfeeder), Joe Kay(Soulection), Om Unit(Civial Music) and more.

In 2014, the single Shut it down by Zaiio, which produced by Howie, released by the world largest Trap music label All Trap Music. September same year, Howie Lee’s far eastern EP Eastside Sampler Series made its huge success in US & EU market, which supported by BBC’s Gilles Peterson.

As a DJ, Howie has played along with a range of superstars such as Just Blaze, Hudson Mohawke, Bok Bok, Plastician, Kode 9, Scratcha DVA, Terror Danjah, and commanded stages at festivals such as SXSW and Shambala. In 2014, Howie Lee has won Timeout Beijing best DJ. He released his debut album Mù Chė Shān Chū on LA’s legendary label Alpha Pup at the end of 2015.

MIKE GAO

Mike Gao is a producer and music technologist from Los Angeles. His style is futuristic and forward thinking, always attempting to push the conventions of Hip Hop, the beat scene and bass music to find the next aesthetic while ironically playing with existing idioms and conventions. He is a bona fide audio scientist, creating his own game changing iOS apps and plugins, as well as doing research for Native Instruments. On social media, Mike Gao has been called a genius by some of the top producers in the scene, from Ta-ku to Kaytranada and Mr. Carmack.

NEHZUIL

Zhen Liu, aka Nehzuil, has established himself as quite a prolific Australian R&B producer. He most notably remixed Amy Winehouse classic “Love Is A Losing Game”, in remembrance of the singer. His Soundcloud page is also littered with remixes of artists such as Sam Smith, Alicia Keys, Corinne Bailey Rae, D’Angelo, and some new favorites such as Jordan Rakei and Tom Misch. These reworks breathe fresh air into classics and slept on jams, paying homage to the OGs but also creating something completely new and forward thinking in the process. He recently teamed up with singer-songwriter Milan for their weekly collaborations on Soundcloud, one latest drop of which enlists additional production assistance from Soulection’s J-Louis.

BOHAN PHOENIX

Straight outta Yi Chang, Bohan Phoenix left his homeland of China and moved stateside at the age of 10. Introduced to America through the intricate flows, booming beats, and rich history of Hip-Hop, the consummate emcee has been studying the game ever since. Since moving to New York City in 2010, Phoenix’s tireless work ethic has made him a man about town, equally likely to be found performing on stage at Harlem’s legendary Apollo Theatre as he is alongside experimental indie rock bands in the DIY venues of Brooklyn. Bohan’s diverse sensibilities and steadfast ethos of collaboration are integral to his creation of the vast loveloveNYC collective;  a diverse group of talented rappers, producers, and filmmakers including the unique talent of multi-genre wonderkid Jachary of The Pluto Moons and the rising star of Colombian-by-way-of-Conneticut rapper Duzzo Dave.
