The New Beijing International Movie Festival Presents:
SHORT FILMS FROM THE BERLIN TODAY AWARD
along with 1 Feature Film provided by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall—the infamous structure that separated East and West Germany and became the symbol of divided ideologies and lives—was toppled. Twenty years after the fall, stories of the Berlin Wall still resonate as controversial, compelling, and powerful.
Today, in the land of the Great Wall, we offer films about walls. In these films, we see how the building and un-building of walls as barriers, as objects, as obstacles, as protection, and as boundaries defines not only our geography, but also our lives.
