SHENGYANFANG CULTURE’S NEW YEAR 2010 PARTY (Part ll)

BEARBABIES, ANIDA, WU XUEYING, YANG QIANCHI, RED MUSHROOM

BEARBABIES
hail from Taiwan. The band was formed in 2000 and has released three albums, including the acclaimed Everyday is a Rockable Day, in 2006. Bearbabies cut through to your heart, and to your ears.

ANIDA
Between her crisp, clear voice and rousing perormances, Anida is an amazing independent musician. After writing “ Xiao Niu Yi Jia” for Ah Niu, Anida has been busy writing songs inspired by books, movies, good music and any source she finds. She has not only been the composer, lyricist and performer, but also puts her work online. Her music follows in Taiwan’s tradition of young comediannes and is a careful observation of the emotional life of young women.

WU XUEYING
is a folk musician, visual artist and fan of calligraphy.  Her music has been described as Post-rock, indie, goth, and darkwave.

YANG QIANCHI
slowly, beautifully, tells you what she needs to say. You’d never want to rush her, because you’d spoil the magic.

RED MUSHROOM
This indie pop folk musician introduces the style of post-80s Shanghaiers. With several independent albums to her credit, she says she has no big dreams, that a simple life is best, don’t you think?
