WHAI / TINY FINGERS [Israel] HOWIE B [UK] / DADDY G (Massive Attack) [UK]

Whai was founded in 2012 by three artists from different Chinese ethnic minority backgrounds, each playing original music with distinctly Chinese elements. Whai plays a mixture of trip hop, dance, Chinese folk, psychedelic, avant- garde, experimental, rock, industrial, techno and noise. However, their sound cannot be boxed into one category; it flows free like the songs’ subject matters which range from China to

phoenixes to the meaning of life.

Tiny Fingers combine post-rock, live electronics, dubstep, psychedelia and groove, forming a powerful, super-intensive musical mix. With broken beats, unique guitar playing, fat bass and fresh synthesized sounds, they integrate the messy intensity of rock music with the ecstasy of electronic raves, creating a thick, unrelenting sound trip.

One of the most respected electronic composers of the ’90s, Howie B is a sonic polymath whose production work with U2, Bjork, Tricky, Brian Eno, Sinead O’Connor, Sly and Robbie and Everything But The Girl has made him an ace hired gun often called upon to give pop stars credit in the dance world.

Grant Marshall, a.k.a. Daddy G has historically become known as the “Bristol Sound”. It´s that laid back sound that breathes dub, reggae, funk, disco and hip hop, represented by protagonists like Massive Attack,Tricky and Portishead. A sound that left its global traces for more than two decades. And Daddy G is its spiritus rector because he was one of the founders of Massive Attack besides Mushroom and 3-D,Daddy G was the core member of the group as well as the group´s main voices.
