Among the countless readings of his life, the documentary Kurt Cobain: About A Son by AJ Schnack in 2006 may well be the most objective retrospective of Kurt Cobain’s short life. This lonely musician that has been discussed internationally for decades reviews in first person his short life, his sensitive and melancholy mind and soul, his overwhelming love and sympathy – all inherent contradictions made him and his performance one of the kind.

As it goes in his suicide note: ‘The fact is, I can’t fool you, any one of you. It simply isn’t fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I’m having 100% fun.’ And ‘it’s better to burn out than to fade away’ is engraved in thousands of youth.

Friday April 12th 2013, in Yugongyishan Beijing, The Gray, Fuzz Mood, The Hit, three alternative bands will interpret classics of Nirvana and channel through to the honest and lonely soul of Cobain. Besides Nirvana covers, they will also bring their own music to the stage, and arch over to the Seattle of Grunge decades ago, and parallel it with dirty distorted guitar, ruthless drum, ironic, anxious and innocent voice.

The Gray, the most Grunge underground band of Beijing, the major contributor to annual Kurt Cobain homage, wishing to affect people with their music. http://site.douban.com/grayband/

Fuzzy Mood, alternative band based in Beijing, the first feature album Martingale was released by Modern Sky in November 2011. Female vocal’s dreamy voice reminds a harpy. http://site.douban.com/fuzzymood/
