After 2 amazing tours in China in January 2008 and December 2009 (19 dates), the French post-hardcore band PAPIER TIGRE (pronouce “Papyeah Teegrr”) returns for a third tour. They will present their new compositions just before going to Chicago, next July, to record in the legendary Steve Albini’s studios with John Congleton as producer (Smog, Explosions in the Sky, The Roots, Antony and the Johnsons).
Formed in January 2006 in Nantes, France, this 3 piece band understands that a song being intelligent and complex need not exclude it from having a raw, danceable energy. Their music is firmly entrenched in the tradition of inventive, challenging punk but combines elements of experimental pop compositions and agressive math rock as well. But above all, PAPIER TIGRE is an impressive live act and a somehow tireless touring band. In about 4 years after they started from scratch, they played almost 400 shows in 23 different countries including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Brazil, the USA, Canada and of course all the way
across Europe. In the UK, the band appeared at 2008 All Tomorrow’s Parties (UK) by invitation of Explosions In The Sky and 2010 SXSW ( Austin, Texas).

- Tickets: Free entrance on invitation from June 15th, available at Yu Gong Yi Shan and Alliance Francaise Beijing (Guang Cai, Xi Hai, BLCU).
