Attention discerning party people! Funk*Fever in conjunction with the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are hosting a monster musical extravaganza to mark World Refugee Day. Friday June 18th, at Yugong Yishan, no less than four heavyweight bands (Afrokoko Roots, Kite, Black Cat Bone, The Verse) will team up with those funky DJs and ABCDJ Patrick Yu, as well as Eddie Lv to bring you styles ranging from Afrobeat to Blues, Funk and House that will keep you dancing ’til the early hours! Each a headliner in their own right, this is a lineup rarely seen before in the capital.
But at the same time as getting folks to dance themselves into a stupor, we will be drawing attention to an important global issue that will affect all of us more and more in coming years. We will screen the documentary ‘Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars’ at 19:30pm before the musical program kicks off at 21:00 and the second floor will house a photography exhibit. These musicians are coming together for a great cause, we hope you will too!
Lineup: Afrokoko Roots, Kite, Black Cat Bone, The Verse, as well as the Funk*Fever DJs (Suiki, Slide, Perman, Martin Star & Bite-Size Buddha), Eddie Lv and Patrick Yu.
