Neil Halstead fronted once Slowdive, a shoegazer synonym and later the country-folk band Mojave 3. He then dived completely into gentle acoustic music and created 2 solo albums to his name: Sleeping on Roads (2002) and Oh! Mighty Engine (2008), the latter released at his surfing buddy Jack Johnson’s record label. The Guardian has compared Oh! Mighty Engine to the work of Nick Drake and Bert Jansch.
